Facing the Shadow Self

This image shows my shadow side. The dark side of myself.
The dark side is not your evil side.
It is the repressed side of yourself. Your fears, negative emotions, memories, etc. It often holds your hidden talents too. Talents that you have ignored or pushed away during your life.
In working with my shadow side I have been able to reawaken my artistic side. Bring it out into the light again.
I am again actively painting, drawing and writing after years of neglecting that side of myself. (:

I used a photo of myself, manipulated it with simple photo editing software and after printing the resulting image, finished it off with coloured pencils.
